Spell for Beginning a Long-Term Project

  • 1 piece carnelian
  • Orange ribbon or thick thread
  • 1 piece of writing paper (optional)
  • Several post-it notes or small squares of paper
  • Work candle for atmosphere (optional)

Instructions:
Light the candle, if using. Spend some time quieting your mind, and then
create the “to do” list discussed above, either on paper or mentally.
Now, write down one task per post-it note, creating a stack of individual,
manageable tasks that will add up to the finished project.
Place them in order of what to do first, second, third, etc. (without getting too
hung up on individual details, as you want to be able to be flexible while you
work). Now stack the notes so that the first task is on top.
Hold the carnelian between your palms, close your eyes, and spend a few
moments visualizing the completed project. How will you feel when you’re
finished? What will the impact of your success be on your daily life? Be as
detailed as you can with your visualization.
When you have established a solid, confident feeling about finishing the job,
open your eyes and say the following (or similar) words:
“Step by step, one by one,
these tasks of mine will soon be done.
So let it be.”
Place the carnelian on top of the stack of notes, and place the stack on your
desk or some other place where you will see it often while you work.
As you complete each task, take the corresponding note from the stack under
the carnelian and tear it up into pieces.
Enjoy watching the stack grow smaller, and take comfort in the energies of
the carnelian helping you to push on to the next step.
